My name is Tina Platek and I am the Media Coordinator at NCHS. I began my journey with Carbarrus County Schools in 2005 as a High School English Lanugage Arts and broadcasting teacher. I began working as a media coordinator in 2021. I look forward to helping and supporting students, teachers, and families with literacy, digital citizenship, career/college prep, and research.
I am originally from Erie, Pennsylvania and attended Baldwin-Wallace University in Berea, Ohio for a Bachelor's Degree in English. I obtained my National Board Certification in English in November of 2011 in English and renews this certification in 2021. Recently, I completed my Masters Degree in Library Science at Appalchain State University in 2022. I have also both presented and learned at trainings both county and state wide and through the JOMC at Chapel Hill on Broadcasting and video editing.
In the summer of 2017 I won a grant from the Miriam and Robert Hayes Charitable Trust with a trip to Germany and in 2020 I won the CCEF Bright Ideas grant to improve technology in the school.
