Advanced Placement Testing

  • Advanced Placement (AP) courses are college-level classes offered to high school students for the opportunity to receive college credit.
  • The 2023 AP Exams will be administered in school as paper-and-pencil exams over two weeks in May: May 1–5 and May 8–12 (see schedule below for each course date and time).
  • Check the CollegeBoard AP website for helpful information and other resources https://apstudents.collegeboard.org/

Each AP Exam costs $96. There is a $40 late fee for any exam ordered after the initial deadline. The State of North Carolina and NCDPI budget to cover this initial fee.

If you cannot make the regularly scheduled test date due to an AP approved absence, you will be responsible for the late testing fee of $40. A late testing window will be available May 17–19 if students can’t test during the first two weeks of May.

  • Ms. Mauldin can help determine if your absence from a regularly scheduled exam meets late testing criteria.
  • Late Testing Fees are due to Ms. Mauldin by March 30th, so a late test can be ordered for the student.
  • All checks must be made payable to Northwest Cabarrus High School with the student's full name in the memo or can be paid in the K12 payment website.

Any student who takes an AP Course through NCVPS will need to contact Ms. Mauldin for the join code to register for the exam before November 1, 2022. Also, you will need to join your class section through your NCVPS Instructor. Otherwise, you will be charged an $96 exam fee by Collegeboard.

AP Exam Schedule- All exams are paper/pencil and taken in person.

All students will need to update their current email address on CollegeBoard.org. All communications between AP and students will go to the email address listed on your myap.collegeboard.org account. If you have questions about your AP exams, email your course teacher or the testing coordinator, samantha.mauldin@cabarrus.k12.nc.us.
